President of the National Union of grain producers Pavel Skurikhin took part in the meeting of the intergovernmental Russian-Serbian Committee on trade, economic and scientific-technical cooperation held in Sochi under the chairmanship of Deputy Chairman of Russian Government Dmitry Rogozin, the Russian side first Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic – Serbian.
Rogozin noted that the Russian-Serbian relations have traditionally been developed in a spirit of mutual trust and multilateral cooperation, and that Serbia was and remains a strategic partner of Russia in the Balkans and in Europe.

Overall, "foreign trade turnover of Russia with Serbia in 2017 was about $2 billion and increased in comparison with the year 2016 by 23.1%, - said Deputy Prime Minister. - At the same time Russian export grew by 20.4%, to $926,2 million, while Russian imports increased by 25.4%, to $1112,5 million."
Vice Prime Minister reminded that the Russian and Serbian leadership pays great attention to maintaining intensive political dialogue and the progressive development of bilateral relations. "Just a few days our country will celebrate the 180th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations," recalled Dmitry Rogozin.
According to Rogozin, the work of the Committee during the intersessional period was fairly heavy, regular meetings have been held co-chairs of mezhpravkomissii and meetings of its working groups. The Vice Premier added that in this period, in addition to the traditional areas of bilateral cooperation such as energy, transport infrastructure, agriculture, actively pursuing prospects for cooperation in new areas: the localization of industrial production by Russian companies in Serbia, cooperation in the field of high technology and innovation, civil aircraft, etc.
"The Serbian partners were provided with the possibility of using the Russian system of remote sensing of the Earth, including for the needs of the agricultural sector of Serbia (GK "Rosatom"), - said Rogozin. - Continued joint work to strengthen the humanitarian image and quality of services peaceful nature of Russian-Serbian humanitarian centre in NIS, including large-scale operation on mine clearance, firefighting etc."
Rogozin said that Russia intends to continue work aimed at the solution of humanitarian problems in the region. He stressed that the Russian side is open to cooperation with third countries and expects to consolidate the international status of the Russian-Serbian center in NIS. Vice Prime Minister also noted the emerging trend of diversification of Russian-Serbian cooperation, increasing the share of innovative component of projects related to the promotion of the Serbian market for Russian high-tech products.
"I am convinced that such projects will contribute to the further development and strengthening of Russian-Serbian relations in General in the long term", he added in conclusion.
